Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

:? not too sure if its ok.

after his neutering, he seemed to be fine, dosn't seem to be in any pain either.

just wondering if its ok. its reddish on the outside of where they did his OP, and its sort of yellowish in the middle. sorry about the terrible picci, he woudnt stay long enough for me to get a good one.

if the yellow is liquid then he has an infection but if the tissue itself is yellow then it's likely necrotic and in either case he needs to go back to see the vet.

in my opinion the wound does not look healthy and shouldn't l;ook like that.

thats what i thought.
i have no chance of going to the vets today, both my parents are at work.

i think ill take him straight away tomorrow morning.

As said in previous posts about neuter, he needs to see the vet. That definitely looks infected. He should be on a course of septrin or baytril. I can't believe your vets don't automatically want to see them back after three days! Sure he'll be fine once he's had a course of antibiotics.

update:

vet said it was fine and its only dead skin. he said becuase he was licking it, its reacted to the wound making it close over, and it should be better soon

gave oscar a anti-inflamotory injection, free of charge
didnt know vets were so kind.

i'm glad he's okay  i was thinking of him last night.

my boy is going to Rabbit&Cat Care in Duston (if you know where that is!) for his neuter tomorrow, eeeee!
