  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I came home about 3pm and he was lying down with Fizz, this isn't unusual but he just didn't seem right :( he did take some greens off me.

He now won't eat :cry:he's had a wee and 3 poo's but nothing else. He seems to be panting aswell :? his stomach isn't hard it feels soft and full.. What should I do ?

Sounds like a Vet job I am affraid
The fast breathing may indicate pain. I would not hang about and would call the Vet now
Good luck and please keep us posted

Waiting for vet to phone me back I've been put through to the emergency vet the vets closed 5 mins ago

He's trying to get comfy bless him :( he's ran and jumped on the sofa and is lying flat out on there.

We are home Bertie's teeth were checked and all seems okay there.. He gave him gut and painkiller injection. How long will that take to kick in ? I forgot to ask him that question.

My hubby caught Bertie with a tea bag yesterday I wonder if he has eaten some of that :? I've really got to get my boy eating tonight I won't go to bed otherwise.

Usually within 2-3 hours in my experience but it depends on the rabbit and how much discomfort they were/are in.

Hope he is feeling better soon Karen .

Bertie's fine :D:D He started eating last night 10.30pm :D
I had a really bad feeling about him last night I really thought I was going to lose him
I starting crying on the way to the vets :cry:I'm such a big wimp
All okay though thank god.. Thanks for asking about him ..
