As part of the grand garden gutting I'm planning to turn our "long border" into a "long compost heap" which will stay unplanted with weed control fabric on the top for at least a year. We currently have heavy clay so am hoping to improve this with grass clippings, the shreddings from our lalandii (which are acidic) and bunny waste.
My question is my buns are on woodshavings (i.e. acidic conifer) but I know that bunny wee is alkaline. Does this mean that bunny waste is relatively neutral in PH i.e. I will need to put lime on the the border to stop our mass of conifer shreddings from making it too acid.
