Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Lucky is back home & resting & I can finally breath a sigh of relief. Now Im wondering what is best for her. Shes eaten some hay, carrot & pellets & had a drink. Shes lying down looking a bit miserable. Should i leave her to it or give her lots of nose rubs.

Aww i'm glad she's ok. Sounds like she's not feeling too bad if she's eating and drinking. All you need now are some poopies:D

If she seems to want some attention i see no harm in some nose rubs:)

Ive just moved her close to the radiator cos her ears feel cold & thanks I will keep a look out for poos. Poor Lucky has also had to have her back teeth burred down. She is the last rabbit in the world I thought would have teeth problems as shes a fantastic hay eater

Aww good news she is back safe.

I gave Arthur nose rubs after his de-plum but after a minute or so he became ratty so I left him alone. He was much better in the morning.

I wouldn't be too worried yet, maybe give it a few more hours. As long as she is eating, it's gotta come out at some point:oops: Just keep an eye on her:)

Cheers ive just been out & pulled loads of fresh grass for her which shes happily chomping on.

Vet didnt give me any metacam/painkillers for her & said the jab she was given will last for 48 hours in a rabbit. Is this correct?

When Lola was spayed she only had to jab which the vet gave. It sounds like she's ok with all the munching she's doing..sending you poopie vibes:)

Thanks. I know Im a worrier when it comes to my buns. Shes just laid down & straight away Im thinking theres something wrong. It comes from having a bun that was ok when i went to bed & the next morning she was really ill & I lost her less than 2 hours later. That happened 2 years ago & im still not really over it. She wasnt even 2 years old, such a sweetie

I can TOTALLY understand that feeling. We lost Rory at the weekend and he had only been with us a month. He was fine on Friday then he had his VHD jab and died less than 24 hours later. I don't think i'll ever get over it. Now when Lola does a happy flop i'm checking that she's breathing and sometimes i wake her up:oops:

But from the sound of it your girlie is doing just fine. She will just need some TLC and before you know it she'll be hopping around again

I was in tears when I read about your little one reminded me so much of when I lost Nibbles. I took her straight to the vet at 08:30 which is only 5min drive from me & she didnt even make it back home.

I'm sorry to hear about Nibbles, it's an awful feeling isn't it:cry: I took Rory to the vets at 12 and waited for the pain relief to make him feel better. He was even eating a little bit. We started to rush him back to the vets when he didn't pick up and didn't even make it out of our street:cry: It was so awful. But we can't blame ourselves, these things happen and i've gotta accept that i suppose.

I think your girlie bun is going to be fine. Sounds a lot like what my Lola was doing. Eating loads but no poops for a while
