Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Teeth problem

Young Bun
Just over a month ago Sandy had to have his bottom front teeth clipped as they were growing in a v shape. I checked them last week and they werent too bad but today when I checked them they have grown again or should I say the 1 tooth has grown the other has snapped off at the gum. Now the top teeth seem to be growing too but when I took him to the vet the last time because he hadnt had them clipped since october he said that it would be better to keep having them clipped rather than take them out. They are obviously growing alot quicker now and when I take him to the vet tomorrow I am worried he will suggest taking them out, after what has just happened to my sisters bunny Clover who had her teeth taken out and it resulted in her getting an absess which eventually ended her life I am a bit concerned as what to do. He also has runny eyes which he had a dental under anaesthetic to burr his back teeth but to no avail his eyes continue to run and I have just noticed his brother Brandy has also got runny eyes but not as bad. Can anyone help?
