View Full Version : Agressive lionhead needs home
Posted on behalf of fluffsfriend
Name : Fluff
Physical discription : Very pretty grey lionhead, longhaired
Temperament : Nasty. Growls, bites scratches, even when you get her food bowl out her cage to change food.
Age : Aprox 8 months, the lady got her as a baby last summer sometime
Sex : Female, the pet shop told the lady this, I have not checked, she wont let me close enough, sorry.
Neutered : No
Vaccinations : No
Health : Seems in good health, no noticeable problems, good coat, good teeth,
Type home wanted : Unless someone is prepared to take on a nasty, stroppy bunny and is experienced then she would be better in a rescue who can work on her issues.
Location : Chelmsley Wood, Solihull West Mids, but unfortunately I dont drive.
Reason for rehome : My neighbour went into a nursing home as her family thought her no longer to look after herself due to dementia, I took them in temporarily as I was going in to feed them but the council reclaimed her house, family say they tried RSPCA and got usual answer, Sorry we are full. Also need homes for 2 guinea pigs and rat with tumour if anyonecould point me in right direction. All live in my garage at the mo as I have a terrier that would kill them if in the house, or garden, also weather too cold for outside IMO
Ok I may regret saying this :lol:, but you do realise I am one of your local rescues. What is she like with other bunnies do you know at all?

poor bun :-( I wish I was allowed more, I am used to dealing with aggressive buns. She needs spaying asap. Hope she finds a knowledgeable home soon!
Chloaster is in Solihull and she took Tammy 'miss snorty pants' demon bunny off me
Im sure neutering could work wonders too ;)

Sounds like Tree's house is ideal for Little Miss PMT:lol::lol::lol: I thought I was pretty good with some ASBO buns but having been to Tree's, she has a fantastic female guard bunny (she must be related to Mike Tyson:lol:) despite being spayed and then their is the gorgeous Bob (not the battery kind) that also lunges and grunts despite being neutered and I was amazed at how Tree found them easy to handle:shock::lol::lol: If they had been my buns I would be in full plaster of paris body armour through out the year :lol::lol:

Yeah, could be Scamps sister ...... another aptly named bun!! Wonder if they'd get on ..... Scamp is currently in finishing school being taught to be a good boy!! :D
Sounds like she's in need of a spay!
If you still need to have the guinea pigs rehomed I can take them in, pm me for details if you need to.

Hi everyone, I,m the daft person that has taken Fluff and her attitude in, TEMPORARILY I must stress! She is gorgeous, she is without doubt the prettiest little killer bun I have ever seen! I wish I had a camera to show you! I would have no probs finding her a home on looks alone, she hs melted many hearts til I show them the scars on my arms and the chunks taken out of my shoes everytime I clean her out. I have just being pricing up having her speyed, had 3 quotes of £35, £52 AND £72  I would be prepared to pay the £35 and have her speyed if anyone wanted her. I am either looking for an experienced owner of VERY GRUMPY, to put it mildly, rabbits, or a rescue centre that has the time and knowhow to work on her. At the mo she is certainly not as cuddly as she looks:cry: The problem I have is, I have no transport, and she doesnt have a hutch of her own as she was a house rabbit and is living in a borrowed run in my garage. I dont think she has met another rabbit since her litter mates but is DEFFINATELY not good with guinea pigs. Her favourte treat is millet and used to terrorise my cockatiel to pinch hers when I had to keep her in the house overnite til I could borrow a run! Sorry for rambling on, and I,m sure she has some good points, somewhere deep inside, and I do care about her, tho it doesnt sound like it, I just have to tell it like it is so she gets the right forever home for her! Bless her!
Thanks, Helen x

roflolol awww I know I shouldn't laugh but she sounds a right character:lol::lol::lol: By the sounds of it she would be a great security guard bunny :lol: or she could be still in her early training of becoming a bunny surgeon specialising in amputation:lol::lol::lol: Lets hope the new owner has BUPA cover in case they need plastic surgery:lol::lol::lol:
I really hope she finds her forever home, she is one bun that sounds like she really deserves ones despite her PMT (potential Murder Targets) :):D
be aware that not all vets know about bunnies (yes it's shocking I know :() - that cheap quote for a spay is a bit too cheap for comfort IMO - maybe they don't use the right (expensive) anaesthetic or invisible, dissolveable stitches? Plus she would have to recover in a warm house and need a few days nursing care afterwards, so you might be best letting her new owner or rescue sort that out? She could die if the vet's not updated with small animal care, so you need to check they've been to small animal confereces etc. since qualifying, before letting them lose on your bunnies :) Hope you manage to find them homes soon :)

Yeh i second about the price, £35 is very cheap, im paying £85 for saffy to be done, they keep her in overnight to maksure she poo's ect and are very knowledgable about buns. Its worth every penny for peace of mind and for the bunnies sake in my opinion.

There's a vet group that specialise in vaccs/neuters in West Mids - I'm guessing that might be where the cheaper quote is from.
Expensive doesn't mean better so although I'd suggest asking them a few questions, a low price doesn't mean bad service :)

Thats right Tamsin, it looks asthough its my vets that have quoted the cheapest price :D The Pet Vaccination Clinic, excellent vets and they also have quite a few practices now :) Bunny sounds a right little character :)

I agree, cheap price doesn't mean worse service.
I only paid £40.00 for spays. Invisible disolvable stitching, a good level of pain relief and good follow up checkups.
I was more than satisfied.
Should I assume that you have sorted the guinea pigs and don't need our help?

Is this sorted?
I thought Angie wanted her, which seems like the best plan, as she'll go straight into a pet home rather than a rescue and then rehomed. Where's Angie gone?

I'm here!
I said i would take her if she turns out to be permanently aggressive:D If she's fixed by spaying, she may well end up as a snuggle bun & go to a regular home:lol: I'm on holiday in April, & then until May 22nd I'm looking after a dog - so I won't have a living room free until 23rd May. I can't put a bun in the bun rooms, until they have had 4 weeks panacur, so they would need living room until late June. (And then my week's boarder could have my spare bedroom - so don't worry Other Angie:lol:)
So basically, if this bun can be spayed, & that doesn't fix her, I can happily take her from 23rd May. She can then be panacured & put in my bun rooms.
Sorry if my Pms didn't make sense Tree:oops::rolleyes:
I'm not actively looking for more buns, but if another female-Calel comes up, I can get my Nasa-approved suit out.

I am sooo sorry Lucyhp! I honestly thought I,d pm,d you:oops: I,m really tired, have been doing 12hr niteshifts all week and my brain is a bit puddled! No, the guinea pigs arent sorted yet, and I would be very greatful if you could offer them a home! :D They are female sisters as far as I can remember, around 4 years old, (not Speyed) the old lady looked after them well, loved them but didnt handle them much so they are a bit skittish and have very long nails as she never cut them  Other than that they seem very healthy, they have always been fed on Wilko guinea pig food, with plenty of fruit and veg and good quality hay, I have kept to this diet since they have been here, they are living in a borrowed cage, so I,m afraid they dont have a cage of their own, but I do have a HUGE, solid, really well made outdoor hutch available to whoever has them, from when I kept guina pigs myself. It has been kept in the garage for years and is in good condition. BUT it would take at least 2 strong men and a transit van to move it. I dont have any transport as I dont drive, but would be willing to pay travel costs.
With regards to the cheap rabbit speying at £35, It is at The Pet Vaccination Centre and they are set up purpously to vaccinate and spey pets affordably in a bid to prevent unwanted pets. I trust them fully, I had my 3 cats speyed here and two of my dogs, also a male rabbit castrated (R.I.P Benji Bun :rabbit2:) and 2 male guinea pigs, years ago. Please believe I am animal mad and wouldnt do anything by them that I wasn,t 100% sure of:thumb: It isnt Fluffs nature that is stopping my keeping her, I love rabbits, it is that I have always given my rabbits/guinea pigs as much space as poss and that means a vast amount of my small garden, however I now have a Westie who I cant trust round small furries, and the animals I already own must come first! My back door is open all summer for the dogs/cats to go in and out, and I cant risk any "accidents", and to be honest, I dont have the time/cash to spend on giving these rescues the love and attention they deserve and need! Sorry my posts are long winded, and I am not round much, but I either seem to be at work or asleep!

I agree the PVC are very good at neutering and are reasonably priced. I use them for my fluffs too.

Sorry I havent been around much, I,m doing a lot of overtime at work at the mo (12 hr nite shifts)
Looks like Fluff maybe sorted after I have her spayed, will post details when I know for sure! :D
The guinea pigs are still homeless at the mo!
So is the poor rat. May have to have the rat pts as will cost a fortune that unfortunately I dont have to have her tumour removed, BUT having said that, altho it is large she is showing no ill effects or pain from it so is OK for a while as she still seems to have great quality of life is very active and loves her fuss. I would never let her suffer tho, and the first sign of discomfort I will seek veterinary advice. :thumb:
Thanks x Helen x
I will take the piggies if we can organise a run to Bolton:D if the home for the bun falls through then I will take her too, I like stroppy buns

I've had lots of ratties, and due to excessive inbreeding to gets colours etc. they are prone to huge benign tumours but they don't often suffer and just adapt to the big lumps on them. one of mine got one as big as a golf ball, and although I was horrified and kept going back to the vet I was assured she was in no pain. She still ground her teeth and played with my hair and lived a ripe old age. She was nearly bald by the time she went, so please don't write the rattie off just yet!
On a slightly different note- (scottish accent) "THat's no ordinary rabbit!".... spot the quote

Hmm, I'm afraid I would say that it's not just fine to leave them with lumps on unless they are rather old, or have other medical problems. I would not be happy if one of my rats was left with a lump the size of a golf ball unless there was a very good reason :?

Hello Everyone!
Firstly, can I just say what a wonderful site this is, :D with wonderful members! Thank you all for your offers of help with Fluff, the guinea pigs and rat that came to stay with me when their owner went into a home.
Time for an update! Fluff is going to be spayed on Monday, then after recovering here for a couple of days she is going to Chloe. Thank you Chloe, and everyone else who has offered to help. Denny is coming to fetch the guinea pigs on Monday and taking them to Tracy, Thank you both so much and again to all those who have offered help. And finally the rat with the tumour, I have had a wonderful offer from Jocelyn, who has kindly offered to come all the way from Brighton to Brum, by train, fetch her, and take her and pay for all the treatment she needs. How wonderful is that? I am going to take her to my vet first so I can give Jocelyn a better picture of what is needed. I am truely touched by the genuine kindness of you all, you are all fantastic! Thank you all so much x Helen x :D :D :D

Quick update, The Guinea Pigs went to live with Tracy yesterday, Denny came to fetch them, So thank you Tracy and Denny! :D
Fluff was speyed yesterday, she did well and is tucked up nice and warm in my spare room with the birds, it was nice to be able to fuss her for an hour or so, but then as she recovered more, so did her ad mood! Oh well, it was nice while it lasted! She has a check up on Thursday then will be going to stay with Chloe, so thank you Chloe! :D x Helen x

Fluff let me stroke her for an hour today, and not only did she let me, she enjoyed it!!! She was only speyed on Monday, is this normal for them to change so quickly? She has never let me do this since she was tiny wen she lived with the old lady! I am quite choked actually! x Helen x
