Posted on behalf of charlie82

I have two baby rabbits coming back to me tomorrow that urgently need a new home. I have fostered them here since they were born, their mum and sibling have now gone to new home and these babies did go over a week ago and I have had to fight to get them back because I believe that they were not being looked after properly. They are very beautiful little bunnies and I would prefer it for them to stay together.
They are both little girls and mum and dad were both x lionhead. One bun is short haired with no mane and the other is going to be excessively long haired. She does not have the typical appearance of a lionhead i.e mane and skirt, but rather a puffball appearance and very very cute. Charlie (short haired) is very outgoing and looks out for her sister who is quite shy and timid. They do like nose rubs and I think will turn out to be very entertaining.
Both are 9 1/2 weeks old and I will post pictures once this post is up. I can keep them here short term but I am currently living with my sister and her husband who won't allow me to have any more permanently ( I have six buns of my own). If anyone can help please let me know! Thanks!

I don't understand how the little one has turned out so fluffy. I picked them up today, and she has grown even fluffier in the space of a week!! She looks like a little cat.

 I know. If I was in my own place I definitely would, but my sister thinks six is enough. They are such lovely girls. I won't be letting them go to anything but the best though, they have already been shipped about so they are staying until I find a home that I think will give the, everything.
Lily is just the most unusual bun, her little feet are like lambs feet and soooo cute..I have a cashmere bun who is like her in terms of body fur, but i've never seen such fluffy feet before, not even on my very fluffly lionheads!! She needs someone who will understand her grooming needs.

In light of what has happened between my other two buns and having to re-adjust exercising space this is becoming quite urgent now. If people up north can keep their ear to the ground please do.....:cry::cry::cry:

They are 2 absolutely gorgeous rabbits. I have just lost 1 of my house rabbits and his partner is very lonely as she has always been used to having a friend. If I thought that 2 females would get on I would take at least 1 of the bunnys off your hands. The problem is that Ive heard quite a few reports that 2 females dont always get on. The female I have is neutered so im not sure. I also live quite close, 30 miles north of Newcastle. I will definately have a think about it

Oh I am so, so sorry to hear about your bunny :-( yes I am not sure about two females, it really really does depends on their personalities. Obviously the babies are still babies so generally aren't so much of a problem but I don't know how an adult doe would react. If you would like to meet either of them just let me know. I would never expect to permanently rehome out to a home that didn't work out.:(

How did you come to have them?

A relative that I don't speak to regularly asked me if I would look after her two buns at New Year (she knows I foster) and told me that they had been living in seperate hutches.....she failed to mention they had been roaming the garden together. Anyway, I had neutered the buck for them while they were here but two weeks later I had a litter of six babies! I managed to rehome four of them but my relative said she had a home for two. I reluctantly let her have them but I found out a few days later that her friend wasn't having them and they were keeping them....I wasn't happy for reasons I won't go into and managed to persuade them that it wasn't a good idea so went and got them back but was supposed to have to another home lined up for them...

god I hope my relative doesn't come on here and see this :shock::shock:

They are ten weeks old now but I'm finding it hard to rehome as i won't advertise them elsewhere, and can only go by word of mouth.

I really hope you can find them a home. I will keep my ears and eyes open. Which rescue do you foster for? I will put up a RR poster in my vets (i keep meaning to do so), trying to get my o/h to laminate it at work. Probably no good as you said its urgent now. They wont be neutered will they as they are too young?
ETA : Just look at their age, of course they arent.

I used to foster for Bunny Burrows, but then I just started taking them in of my own accord. I don't make a good fosterer as I end up wanting to keep them :oops: I have to put it on hold for the moment because I am living with my sister so with having my six to find space for I can't push my luck with them (my sister and her husband that is). It is urgent for the babies benefit, not mine. We are moving end of this month/beginning of next so I won't have as much space. Obviously I will take them with me and keep them until they find a good home, but the sooner the better so they have more space. They are only ten weeks old at the moment so too young to be neutered, but if they are still with me at 16 weeks they will be done :) I soooooo wish I had my own house and I would just keep them myself. I'm especially in love with Lilly :love:

he he... thank you!

It doesn't help that i am going to be so fussy about it. lilly needs to go to a home that will spend lots of time grooming her because she is so fluffy and will be at more risk of fly strike...also I REALLY don't want to split them up :cry::cry:

Can't believe there hasn't been more interest in these two. The little splodey one reminds me of my Lola, who is the friendliest bun ever.

Asked my boyfriend if we could take them but he's said no more bunnies until we have a bigger garden (actually he said I can have "as many as I want then" - I'll hold him to that!) Even leaving my laptop lying around with their pics on hasn't done the trick.

Have you put them on the main rabbit rehome site? When I was looking for Lola and Ted it took me ages to find these forums linked from the rehome site.

he he..... you will end up with lots like me!! I don't think I could go back to have just a couple now.

Yes I have had them on the main RR site for two months now :) Had one call about them but don't think they are right for them. I'm eager to have them here until they are neutered too though...

I've given her more of a haircut so she can see better. I never expected her to be so fluffy

hi im not sure if i can help or not, i have 2 bonded frenchies who have theyre own shed, i have a empty 2 tier hutch sitting in my garden, and i keep looking at it thinking it should be filled!!:? my frenchies have the run of the garden, so if i foster or take on 1 or 2 more i would have to get a run for the new ones, my boy is castrated but my girl isnt, id be happy to help if u felt this was ideal, but as i said would need a run for theyre excercise safely from my frenchies. look foward to hearing from u x

HI EVERYONE.Got these wee rabbits today as Charlie82 most kindly brought them all the way up to Glasgow where i collected them (i'm about 15 miles from there)so they have had a long journey but seem to be doing great, the usual eating, pooing, drinking, grooming and investigating haha. It's great to have wee bunny feet pitter patter again.Thanking you so much Charlie82.I've done a wee picture on my profile thing, not great but until i learn how it;ll have to do i'm afraid.THERES LOTS OF OTHER WEE RABBITS OUT THERE NEEDING A GOOD HOME AND I HOPE THEY FIND ONE SOON.
