Bunnies Coat

New Kit
Hi,

Im new to this site and have a quick question.

Barney was an outdoor rabbit however with the cold weather we fetched him inside. He has become like a different bunny, so friendly and loves the company.

He has started to shed his coat and i though that this was normal because he doesnt need a big thick coat but its starting to get a bit thin. He seems happy in himself and i have brushed him but its comming out in tufts so i've stopped. It does come away when hes stroked.

Is this normal?

Hi Nic.

Welcome to the forum:wave:

Bunnies moult about 4 times a year so don't get too worried unless you see it coming out in clumps leaving large bald patches. This might indicate an underlying cause.

Loosing large amounts of fluff overall is quite normal otherwise.

Just make sure he remains hydrated as bunnies indoors will find it more drying that when they were outdoors.
