  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Poorly bun bun :o(

Zorro

Warren Scout
Zorro has a bit of a runny bum & looks a bit bloated

He seems to have a bit of a runny poo, then normal ones, it isn't consistent though.

The past 3 or 4 days he has had a couple of 'sticky' poo's but today he was laid out asleep with his tail poking through the bars, I could see a sticky poo hanging out of his bum & a small amount of runny poo dribbling out of him.

I got a sample of 6 different hay's from thehayexperts & have been trying him on new the hay's, he's been fine until now, this week, along with his usual Timothy Hay, he has had Pure Dried Grass & thought it might be from that, so stopped giving him it.
He also had a popcorn gnawing chew which I reluctantly gave him (as he doesn't gnaw on his current gnawing toys ) 4 days ago, he seemed fine from that though.

Is there anything I can give him to help?
He is just getting his usual pellets & Timothy Hay for now.

I'll try that, he hasn't touched the pellets I gave him anyway, normally he goes for them straight away!

Do bunnies get bloated??

do you mean one of those sweetcorn dried husk thingies when you say popcorn chew? only sweetcorn kernels are indigestible and can cause blockages :?
