This is Harriet ...or Harry ...:?:?:?

Harriet is a rather special bunny as she / he is a hermaphrodite (hope ive spelt it right . ...)
When sent for spaying it was found she had no womb . She has no penis but has what is thought to be retained testicles

her partener certainly thinks shes a girl :oops:...
He is called Tom and all his bits were right where they should be ;) Tom has been neutered .

They are both shy but lovely bunnies ....both very very tidy in their hutch ;)

They are GORGEOUS bunnies!!!!!:D

Totally off topic I suppose, but I used to have a goat who was a hermaphrodite. He/she was a LOVELY little creature.:D :D

Were the testicles removed? If not, will they present a problem in the future (I know it's often recommended in normal male animals that retained testicles are 'sorted' sooner rather than later)?

vet didnt seem to think they would cause problems ...not properly formed by the sound of it .

Ah OK, I just vaguely remember hearing that retained testicles have a (high?) chance of becoming cancerous - guess it's different if they're not developed properly

ok ...have looked into this further ....

vet tried to remove testicles after finding no uterus .....but Harriet was bleeding a lot and they couldnt get to them ...definatly small and not fully formed . In the end vet was worried about blood loss and had to close Harriet back up .

doesnt think they will cause problems but of course cant be sure....but too dangerous to carry on with op .
