Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Weeping Eyes??

New Kit
Hi

I am new here and have two rabbits. One is very old and I have noticed that one of his eyes, his fur is damp underneath. It appears fine in himself and I can't see any discharge. He is a bit of a grumpy bunny and bites sometimes so it is difficult to get to his eyes to bathe it.

Should I be worried?

Many Thanks

Hi, I had the same problem with one of my buns and we took her to the vets and first they just gave us eye drops that didn't work, we paid a lot of money for that and a swab before we took her to another vet where they did an xray which showed that it was her teeth causing the weepy eye.

Good luck with your bun:)

Hi

Thanks for all your replys. I took him to the vets yesterday and they said that he had a blocked tear duct and he has to go in and have it flushed.

Thanks
