What is the RU Rescue Manual Project?
The Rescue Manual Project is a project to create a manual for rescue centres dealing with rabbits.
Why?
There are hundreds, possibly thousands, of rescue owners and volunteers that work with rabbits. Rescue work is very demanding and full of potential pitfalls and problems. This is an opportunity for people to pool their knowledge and experience to help further the work of all rescues across the UK.
How You Can Help?
Share you knowledge, experience and ideas. You don't have to be working in rescue to help. Perhaps you have tips on cleaning techniques, how to keep accounts or write a press release. Add your ideas to the relevant topic and they'll be complied to create the finished manual.
There is more than one way to accomplish things so don't be afraid to suggest alternative ideas. Hopefully this will turn into a balanced manual with lots of information to help rescues who can then use it to decide their own practices.
How this will work
I've created some sections to cover different topics. Within each section I'll start threads on sub-topics and then everyone can add their suggestions on points to consider, helpful tip, potential problems and how to solve them. You can write a paragraph (or more) on the subject or just add notes for others to turn into text.
Before You Post
If you post in this section you are giving us permission to use anything you say (in whole or part) to create the Rescue Manual.
Referencing
If something you post comes from a source eg a book/website instead of your own knowledge please reference the source so we know where the info comes from.
