Don't miss this fascinating talk and film about a small group of dedicated and courageous campaigners who set about exposing the secretive and murky world of the European rabbit fur industry. Despite the risks, the story they uncovered shook the fur industry and has already led to new anti-cruelty legislation in some countries

Sunday 9th March, from 2pm at Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London, WC1R 4RL (see below for directions and a map). Talk starts at 2.30pm, we will be serving vegan food and drink afterwards.

Over a two year period, investigators from CAFT (Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade) carried out a series of undercover operations to infiltrate the previously closed world of the European rabbit fur industry. Using still and video cameras, they visited fur farms, fur processing plants and slaughterhouses in France, Spain, Italy and Denmark.

Although they were sickened by what they witnessed, they continued to carefully document everything they saw. Finally after two years they felt they had enough evidence, and the result was a shocking and damning indictment of the rabbit fur industry, which has already had repercussions worldwide. A recent ban on caged rabbit farming in Austria was put down in large part to the evidence gained by CAFT's investigation.

Louise from CAFT will talk about the investigation, how it was carried out, what they saw, and the implications for anti-fur campaigners and for the animal rights movement as a whole.

All welcome, the talk will be just as useful for seasoned campaigners as for those who have not yet understood the horrors of the fur trade. A website is being set up for more infromation, see http://rabbitfur.org/
