Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Corns on rabbits

Young Bun
Hi
I wrote a post a couple of days ago about my rabbit having a scab on her mouth- see post below.
I have been to the vets today and they feel she has a corn that is growing out of control.
She is booked in on Fri to have it removed under GA and sent to the lab for histology- I guess to see if it is something sinister?
I have never heard of rabbits having corns- can anyone else shed any light!!
Also need goodvibes that she will get through her GA ok

Please help if you can guys.
A couple of weeks ago we noticed a scab forming on the bottom lip of our bunny Moggy.
We just presumed she'd cuaght herself and that it would heal of its own accord- this has not happened, in fact the scab has got longer and now looks like a giant tooth (and is definitely not a real tooth btw)to a length of approx 1 cm downwards
In the last couple of days it has really shot up in size and I am now very worried- I have a vets appointment on Tuesday but I wondered if anyone had any idea what it may be.
Just to add that in herself she is 100% fine- no probs eating/drinking or pegging it up and down the stairs- just this ever growing scab.

Sorry to hear of this. I always imagined corns as what old ladies get on their toes, when they wear too tight shoes!!
Hope it all goes well..
Sending corn-free vibes... and bunny hugs xxx

Is the vet defintely sure it's not syphyllis?? This can show with crusty growths to the mouth.
