I let buns out in their new and nearly finished run today (some pics in Stories & Photos in-'My Bunny Shed / Run Project Is Underway').
Whilst they were in run I done their hutches (whilst our cat, Chester - the cheeky boy on the left here, looked on). The buns arent bonded yet as Harvey is yet to be neutered, so had their time in the run individually.
Harvey was out first so was the first to return to his freshly cleaned hutch. I then put Willow out and sat in run with her for a bit before tackling her hutch. Anyway, when I went to clean Willow's hutch I glanced over to Harvey's hutch and had the shock of my life. There he was sat in the upper part of his hutch alongside Chester!!! I had to take a second look to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Sure enough, there they both were. I was so worried as I have heard of a rabbit dying after being bitten by a cat.
I rushed to open the hutch and Harvey seemed quite happy with his new 'lodger' and Chester didnt seem in any rush to get out. I took him out straight away. The cheeky boy must have snuck in there after I had cleaned the hutch and must have gone into the sleeping compartment which is why I hadnt even noticed he was in there.
Im just grateful all was well tho. Chester is a lovely soppy cat but you can never be too careful. Will check bedrooms of hutches after a clean in future!!
Was laughable afterwards tho!
