What a Shock!!!

Madmoo

Alpha Buck
I let buns out in their new and nearly finished run today (some pics in Stories & Photos in-'My Bunny Shed / Run Project Is Underway').

Whilst they were in run I done their hutches (whilst our cat, Chester - the cheeky boy on the left here, looked on). The buns arent bonded yet as Harvey is yet to be neutered, so had their time in the run individually.

Harvey was out first so was the first to return to his freshly cleaned hutch. I then put Willow out and sat in run with her for a bit before tackling her hutch. Anyway, when I went to clean Willow's hutch I glanced over to Harvey's hutch and had the shock of my life. There he was sat in the upper part of his hutch alongside Chester!!! I had to take a second look to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Sure enough, there they both were. I was so worried as I have heard of a rabbit dying after being bitten by a cat.

I rushed to open the hutch and Harvey seemed quite happy with his new 'lodger' and Chester didnt seem in any rush to get out. I took him out straight away. The cheeky boy must have snuck in there after I had cleaned the hutch and must have gone into the sleeping compartment which is why I hadnt even noticed he was in there.

Im just grateful all was well tho. Chester is a lovely soppy cat but you can never be too careful. Will check bedrooms of hutches after a clean in future!!

Was laughable afterwards tho!

Our cat let Dexter out of the puppy pen the other day when i was out..... apparently hubby went upstairs to fing them both chillin' quite happily!!!

my friend has 9 cats and a rabbit, they all get onf ine together btu whenever she cleans the bun out, one particular cat always gets in the hutch lol

One of my friends rabbits thinks it is a cat and will only socialise with them andf not the other rabbits, the rabbit even sleeps with the cats, her cats also groom the guinea pigs:roll:

My old house bun grew up thinking she was a cat, sharing beds etc, then when she had to move outside (due to trashing the house), I'd always leave the hutch door open and one of the cats would jump in and keep her company.

After she passed and I got another bun, one of the cats went missing one night (they usually come in), it wasnt til the next day I discovered I'd accidentally locked the cat in with the new rabbit .... I think they spent the evening getting to know each other and were the best of friends then! :D

I think Chester will become best of friends with the rabbits. He is a very soppy cat and loves his cuddles. I really thought I was seeing things when I seen him sat there next to Harvey tho.

Maybe I should get another cat to keep him company before he begins to think he's a rabbit! lol
