Is it just me?

...or is an integral part of bunny ownership the continual upgrade and tweaking of their living accommodation to make it more interesting for them and/or more convenient for you?

I have spent the afternoon building a "burrow" for Flops and Tops to hide in (a crate on bricks) and lining their hutch with lino tiles......:?

Every week I think I am finally happy with it, and a week later, I find myself playing around and making more changes.......;)

totally :( every time i finish building something Im like "hurrah, I will have free time now I'm not constantly doing woodwork" but then i think of something else to do for them and so it goes on :( I do wonder if I'll ever be satisfied!

*is* anyone reading this totally satisfied with their rabbits' accommodation??

Its not just you. I've come to realise owning a big dog would be much easier and less expensive. Bunnies are definatly exotic pets with specialist needs (fibre etc). I'm always doing something on their run.

Nope - I've been looking at some new chicken coop style hutches for them. Even though they have perfectly good double hutches and runs which they have 24 hr access to in the shed:roll:

me too - everyone thinks my bunnies already live in a paradise - but we spent all day today re-arranging it - building a 'hump' for Sweet pea to sit on (he does like hills!), changing the way round one f the hutches is so that it gets more sun, swapping a run from the patio (which was for the rabbits that now just have full run of everywhere so don't need it) to the garden next to the main runs so we can put some indoor buns outdoors all day in summer even if I'm out - then we re-built a slope, dug out a small tree in the way - potted the tree up, put some wiring on a gate so they couldn't bite each others noses, adjusted the electric fencing . . . . . etc etc etc

already we are planning what we will do next weekend!!!

I always feel as it it looks untidy or too cramped to empty or too full!

I change it round about everyday!

It annoys me because I want it to be great for them! x

I spend far more effort and time on my bunnies house than my own! In fact they're taking over my home, so maybe that'll mean more housework gets done.

Me too:wave:
Yesterday I added a new tunnel & cardboard box to Storm & Mallow's indoor accommodation. Today I'll be do some gardening to prepare a space for a new hutch outside so they have a Summer accommodation.

they say: "We've got tons of stuff but we always want more!"

Nope, it's not just you! I think you're totally right. We're constantly tweaking their little home as well. Ours have the space under the stairs as their own (it's open...not in a cupboard like Harry Potter!) and we're always changing it around. They seem to love it when it's all fresh and different - stops them getting bored.

And toys...we spend a bomb on different toys! But money well spent in my opinion. If they're natural toys and developed to do what bunnies do (throwing, foraging, nibbling etc) then we've tried them! When we developed the rabbit toys section of our website, we took the best of them (the ones they play with most) and stuck them all in one place! But it's a never-ending search for new things to entertain them!

I totally think you're right about rabbits being a far bigger responsibility than you first thing. The number of people who come to our store and say 'we're going to get a rabbit - what do I need?' but have NO IDEA what it entails until we tell them...:censored:

Yeah I know what you mean. Now its getting near summer I want to change her outdoor playhouse. As she will got out there evenings and weekends. I'm selling stuff on ebay to get a new playhouse to put my supplies of hay in so she will have more room. I'm going to put her old indoor cage in there with vetbed. I will then be looking for ideas of how to make it more interesting.
