  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

the little man is 17 weeks and i still have no sign of man bits yet - i know it's anything up to 6 months before they pop out - but how will i know what they look like? he's so hairy down there and i've tried to have a lookie, he's willing to lie on his back but go pokey downstairs and he's off! i've googled "rabbit testicles" so i can see a picture but can't find anything. he isn't exhibiting any teenage behaviour....yet! i'm not looking forward to that! i get the circle of love but it's only because i have his dinner in my hands, lol!

i just want to catch him quickly so he can be neutered before he starts getting amorous with my foot or destroys everything i own!

i just want to know wether they'll be fairly obvious when they do appear (i'm so used to hamsters taking up half their body i'm worried i'll miss 'em!)

some vets ask you to go in for an appointment b4 ur deplumming to check the plums are down! my boy bun phoebe done a good job at hiding his  even the vet had trouble feeling for em
U cant miss them when there down..

Once they've dropped they're fairly easy to find, though rabbits can retract them back if they want to.

Are you 100% sure he's a bloke? Or pehaps he's just a late bloomer.

defo a boy, the vet popped his lipstick out, the poor thing!

i've found his sacks but they are empty.... i think! they are just flimsy sack, i feel no plums.

i feel a bit wrong saying that!:lol:

He may just have withdrawn them to stop you poking about!

Or they're still yet to drop, in which case you'll just have to wait, he obviously wants to hang on to them for a while longer. :p

At least he's not being a teenage bunny from hell.

i'm not looking forward to the teen behaviour :?
