New hutch(es) for 3 rabbits needed

Maxy123

Young Bun

We have 3 rabbits, 2 get on fine but not with the 3rd rabbit who was bought later. They've been speyed today so we're hoping to bond them soon

Currently, 2 live in 1 hutch/run and the 3rd one lives alone in his own hutch/run.

We're thinking of getting new homes as these ones (from Pets At Home) are falling apart!

Since the rabbits don't get on at the mo, i think we're going to have 2 buy two separate hutches, and maybe join them together if through some miracle they become friends :p

Any recommendations? I've been looking at

They look really tiny to me. Every hutch i've seen doesn't seem deep enough :?
I really need help because i've been looking at hutches for so long but haven't made a decision.

Thank you for reading all that

HI

I agree with @Kay, they are realy a bit too small.
Wouldnt iht be easyer to build on self?

greetings Lynn

What if we bought two of these and connected them together side by side?

Building one myself isn't really an option

Just wondering, as i don't have grass, what could i use as the floor of a hutch with run underneath? I currently use wood under the run but it hasn't been that great.I know most come with PVC laminate, but i've no idea where to get that from

Two would be bigger, but also more expensive.
What about the seconde one at the link from @Kay?
It looks nice.

Because of the PVC laminate, couldn't you finde it in a building center?
You want to keep them outside, am I correct?
What about a floor made with grass pavers or sth. like this?

:D Lynn

How about something like this
hutchstevesmall.jpg

Each layer is 6ft x 3ft x 2.5 high. We've got them as individual hutches but you could have it made with a ramp going between each layer and then put a run on the front. If you had only the top 2 layers with a ramp and the third witha sealable ramp, if they dont get on then your 2 buns have the top 2 layers and the single a nice 6 x 3 hutch. It was custom made for us from Happy hutch;)

P.S Excuse hubby inside it:lol:

If thats your bloke i feel sorry for him

Rick

Why do you feel sorry for him? - he wasn't forced to get in there. He offered to show people a good perspective of how big the hutches are.

I just found a hutch going on ebay, new one, thought you might be interested

i personally dont feel a 3ft double hutch is big enough for 3 rabbits :?

but you can buy the 6ftx2ftx4ft version of the same hutch here :)

or you can probably think about a shed? or maybe a dog kennel like this one?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dog-Kennel-Ru...yZ101434QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

im currently in the same position as you im hoping to have a bonded trio soon and if it works im deffinatly considering a dog kennel like the one above lots of space for them :D but i guess it all depends on your money situation/garden space etc.

A pair of rabbits would never fit in my 2x4 double due to the ramp taking up most of the floor space - and it's 2' deep whereas the zooplus ones are only 16" measured inside  I've got one of those types of hutches too, used as a garden store as it's too small for rabbits - and the mesh on the run lets mice move in too :?

I would recommend this one for a pair - in the 2x5 size £108 http://www.happyhutch.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=44&categoryID=6 it is self assembly though - comes in panels which need screwing together and the beauty of it is the roof is hinged too for easy access to the top part.

I wouldn't put 3 rabbits in it though - a shed would be better.

ETA - I would stand it on concrete pavers too
