Arthur is booked in for his pre-castration check on Tuesday and the whole thing (inc castration) will cost £53.51 - I thought it was a little bit steep - is that good or bad?

Why they added the extra 1p I don't know lol.

My rabbit spey was the same price.I think it is a good price for an operation as my dog had a swab done of his ear last week and it cost £52.00 so i think for what it involves it is a good price. However if it was cheaper then there wouldnt be the problems that occur with bunnies

Mine costed £59.63 but I think it was completely worth it, they gave him, painkillers, antibiotics and inhaling gas so they didnt inject too much and something to get his bowels moving again... I think it was completely worth the money I spent! And the cleanest job I never did see!! :D

Oh it seems ok then. Sorry. My sister just has her cat done and he was only £42.00 so it seem alot. Its not a problem I have the money for it all saved up. I want the best for him and this place is specialises in Small animals so when he goes in for the op they should know what they are doing! lol

When he has had it done I can start looking for bunny wife for him. There is a beautiful girl bunny at Caroline's called Lorelle I can just imagine her and Arthur.

all vets charge different amounts, mine charges £38 for a male and £55 for a female, maybe phone around, but of course if you know your vets well and you trust them then it's worth it.

alvins was 56 quid with a pre-op and 2 post opd checks.... i thought it was an excellent price really, he also got a weeks course of baytril

I have just paid £130 to have my two frenchies neutered ( one male, one female) that included pre op checks , all post op checks needed 10 packets of bio lapis and extra pain relief or gut stimulants if needed.

I've just paid £54.27 for Charlies neuter today, this includes his pre op check, the op, meds and 2 post op checks (1 tomorrow and 1 next week.)

Ye when mine had it donw, they had a check before they had it donw, then 3 checks after, one to check they were healing, then another to see if they had gone and if they were still swolen, then another 2 months after, to see how they were!:D

Despite being the third most popular pet in the UK rabbits are still classed as Exotics by the veterinary profession and as such cost more to treat.

It may sound a lot to some but it varies so much around the country and from vet to vet. The main thing is that you trust the vet and are happy with they way they do everything.

When I was phoning around to find an experienced vet to spay my girl I was quoted between £45 and £80 and thats just in this county and the next. The vet I settled on wasn't the cheapest but the one I was the most comfortable with. It was £54, including pre-op check, painkiller, post-op check after 5 days and stitches removal after that. Lily had removed her own stitches though! It was fine as she was already healed enough for them to come out. When her husbun to be Warren was neutered on Tuesday it was £36 but he has disolvable stitches so no need for removal but includes check up. They also kept him in overnight free of charge because the op was delayed due to a dog RTA emergency. The dog is doing well :D

i paid £70 for Brian... he was castrated and then one free checkup after...

the other two (one male one female) i paid £40 each
