  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I *think* Lexie may be developing head tilt?

Wise Old Thumper
Its hard to say as her head is very slightly tilted in the direction of her only eye, so Im not sure if she is just looking intently or not. It seems to be consistently like that. Plus she is not acting normally and her stools are smaller.

Vets trip again then. This sounds so selfish but why cant my rabbits just be well :(

Im really not sure if she is or not, its so subtle its hard to tell. One thing is for certain though, she is not feeling well

We think she may be developing an inner ear infection. Anneke has Ok'd giving her Metacam incase she is in pain and she is on Baytril for her Snuffles anyway.

We may be moving her onto Septrin if there is no improvement by Friday. In the meantime I need to keep a very close eye on her and get as much fiber and fluid down her as possible.

She is thoroughly p'd off because she is stuck in her cage, she boredom eats hay so its the best way to get roughage into her
