  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

National vaccination month

This is good if your myxi is due. I had charlie and tia done in jan so just missed out on the one but i think Willow might be able to get one. My vet is participating too but there's nothing up inthe surgery about it.

I have just printed the voucher. You have to pay full price for a myxy vaccination in March 2008 and the voucher gives you a discounted vaccination in Sept 2008. I only have mine vaccinated once a year for myxy so the voucher is no good for me :?

I read it and nearly kicked myself as I've just had my two vaccinated. But rabbits under 9 months old don't qualify apparently. So no opportunity missed.

My vets are participating but we've just had all their myxi done before christmas. It might be ok for Molly and Faline as they're due in march... But then I only vaccinate once a year and come september I'd have lost the vouchers anyway.

There is something up in my vets today, the vaccinations done in march for myxi are discounted and then they do myxi again in sept for free for anyone who is interested.

i'm so confused.....i know it doesn't take much!!

Just because i keep up with my bunny vaccinations why should my bunnies not get the same treatment, as those that don't. I'm going to pop into the vet tomorrow and see what they say. Both Bindi and Maya are regular customers and due for their myxi vaccinations...

It's terrible that people who make the effort to reguarly vaccinate their animals are excluded isn't it???
