Oh thats very sad. I hope you can talk the owner round to letting you have them back if she is adamant in rehoming them. I find it surprising how many people are quite happy to just let their animals go to someone that they know nothing about through an advert.:(

hope you get them back hun, did they sign an adoption form that states that if for any reason the rabbits need rehomed they come back to you? if so just threaten them by saying you'll get a solicitor involved it might scare them enough to give them back to you lol thats only if they refuse to hand them back.

xx

I GOT THEM BACK:):):)
i rang her and said id seen the ad was everything ok ? she said her little girl had got fed up with them and wasnt paying any attention to them and she was to busy:shock::cry: so i explained about the form she signed and that by rights they need to come back to me :) and she said she was happy to give them back, so they are now safe and sound, she wouldnt give the hutch or run because she wants to sell them  but they are both a good size so i have no concerns that what ever bunny takes up residence in them will be unhappy, unfortunately i cant say that about the bunnies tho:cry: they are very underweight and have mites so will be with me a while and do not like being handled either so alot of tlc needed im just so relieved i got them back a happy ending :):):)

It's lucky you spotted the ad and got them back  What a stupid miserable woman.

I dont know what life is like in bunny-rescue-world but I'd be tempted* to write a formal letter as a sort of 'exit strategy'. She knew what the obligations were when she took the bunnies on. Something along the lines of "thank you for returning X and Y - reminding her it was a condition of the original adoption - explain that both are underweight and have mites - hope she'll consider more carefully before getting any more pets". Not nasty but factual.

(*But then I've been known occasionally to accost - reasonably nicely - people who drop litter in the street ;) They dont like it, even if they're polite back, but I bet they think twice next time!)

So pleased that it has worked out for the buns so that you get them back.

Hope the lady has learned something from this situation. Hopefully she won't get her kids any more pets.
