Choci and Lily are fighting again, it started as a bit of fur pulling but as resulted in a small wound by choci's eye:cry:
I haven't taken him to the vets yet, as it isn't deep, looks clean, and it only happened about 1 1/2 hours ago. as long as I keep it clean, will I need to take him? he hates going so much, gets so stressed:cry:
I have seperated them like I did before. I really don't know if I should be re-bonding these two again, its only been a few weeks since there last fight and re-bond:cry:

aww im sorry their fighting again hun, if the wound isnt bad i wouldnt bother taking him to the vets just keep an eye on it and keep it clean just my opinion though. have you got another doe to bond with Chocci instead? i think you said Holli turned out to be a buck? maybe get him neutered and try bonding him and Lily together instead :) also if you have un-neutered rabbits Chocci and Lily may smell them and attack each other... ive heard this is common :)

thats what I thought, if it wasn't too bad just keep it clean and not strees him out with a vet visit.
holly isn't neutured yet, but I could try them together. I'll work out who I can bond choci to later:(

Hmm I'm not sure then :? If he hadn't been injured then I would have suggested just leaving them- sometimes fighting looks bad but they're just having a bit of a scuffle.
Anyone else have any ideas for Vikki??

Bumping this up...come on guys surely someone has some advice!
Vikki, do you have a rescue by you that could help?
You need to go right back to the beginning and take it slowy. Can you set them up in a two cages side by side and each night swap them over? Was the wound a deliberate attempt to hurt the bun, or was it done by accident, ie nail caught face when humping?

Well you all know what a wuss I am with bonding
But I would say that having Holly nearby is def' an issue. As she is unspayed she will 'smell' like a threat to Lily, particularly if Holly is just reaching puberty.
Refered aggression between Lily and Chocci being the result
My personal opinion is that I would not attempt to rebond Rabbits that have actually caused an injury ( not just fur pulling but broken skin) Wounds near the eye do need careful monitoring as sometimes the wound you can see may not be too bad but the cornea of the eye may have been scratched. Left untreated this can lead to infection and corneal ulceration.

as far as I know theres not a rescue near enough, but I will check. I can't set them up side by side, but I can set them up so they are facing each other, they'll be about 3ft apart, is that ok? I'm not sure that that bonding them together will work this time, but I'm willing to give it a go.
the wound looked deliberate, but I can't be sure it all happened so fast, didn't know he had been hurt till I checked. Lily tried to bite him the last time this happened, but I got in the way, so I got bitten insted.
Choci doesn't seem bothed that Lily isn't there, but she seems to be a bit down. I've given both extra attension today.

I Was about to post this and saw vicki's post.
My rabbits are having a problem too!
My rabbits keep biting eachother... and being mean to my rabbit (Holly)
The two rabbits Cream and Thumper are fine with eachother , but Holly is the one who is always being pushed away, always sitting by herself , not accepted by the others, since she's a different colour to the rest (the rest all have the same colour as each other) they are chasing around the pen , and plenty of fur everywhere and i don't know what to do!
My rabbits i guess are being racist! or is it something else, please not only help me but also vicki to help solve the problem!

Is it just the 3 rabbits you have in a group? are they all neutered/spayed? what sexes are they? How old are they?
The colour of your rabbits really isn't an issue here:lol::lol::lol:

your not a wuss Jane, bonding is scary, I've only done one bond and one rebond and both times I was worried sick it would all go wrong.
Hopefully holly will be done on 11th Feb, He/she I'm not that sure she's a she:oops: is about 5 1/2 months. I'm must admit to know what age rabbits reach puberty:oops: but If it around now then, yes this could have caused it. I know last time was caused by them smelling binky-baby on me, but this time its not.
Choci's eyes looks ok, but I think I'll pop in to the vets, I just didn't want to stress him:(

I suspect you'd notice some plums on Holly by now if s/he is a Buck.
Hopefully Choci's eye will be fine.

have I read this right, you have 3 female's, 1 being the mother of the other two, all 3 females are not spayed? The you have 1 male who has been neutered correct?

you really need to get the all the girlies spayed and take it from there but there is no guarantee that this will solve the fighting so may have to seperate your bun from the others:)
