whilst at the vets for myxi jabs i mentioned that my bunnies had been experiencing poopy butt, they eat loads of hay and are on science selective jingles will quite happily munch veg as well whereas daisy wont touch it. well i was asked whether they were having the new recipe selective with the aniseed and fengung in which they are but i was told it was exactly the same when i queried the change in packaging. according to the vet nurse since theyve changed the packaging theyve actually changed the recipe as well and theyve had loads of bunnies in experiencing the same and suggested that i gradually swap to excel.
Is this true and if so is excel the best to swap them onto? :?:?

The pellets definately changed but it was before the packaging. There were quite a few buns on here that suddenly decided they didn't like the new ones which were much greener.
Could it be that you are feeding too many pellets? Mo had excess cc poops as I was trying to get him to put on weight by increasing his pellets. Otherwise, there is no harm in changing to a better suited one. :D

Before changing I'd try cutting them right down over the next few days and then see what happens when you cut them out completely.
I can't imagine such a tiny amount of pellets is going to upset their tums - what you're giving them is more of a treat than anything, so I would look at other reasons for the poops being left - are they outside? if so, is the hutch covered at night and the covers tied down so they can't flap in the wind? Do you wash the veg? Do you give too much carrot? What time of day do you give veg? Do they have any other treats? Do you know which bunny is messy or is it both of them? :)
