Aggressive during pregnancy?

Hi

please can someone tell me if it is normal for a female rabbit to be rather aggressive when pregnant?

I don't have a pregnant rabbit but was talking to a breeder recently and she mentioned the fact that one of her rabbits would "have you" if you went too near when it was pregnant.

since i know nothing about breeding rabbits i wondered if this was usual or if this lady was being silly breeding from an angry rabbit?

It's the hormones. ^^
I had a pregnant rabbit here for a while, and she'd lunge and grunt if I put my hand in her space... To her, she was pregnant, and the cage was her territory, for her babies when they arrived... makes sense really. I don't think ALL does are aggressive when pregnant, but it's not abnormal for them to be.

They're protecting themselves and their future kits so they will be more aggressive. Perfectly normal.
