I live in the US, in North Carolina, to be more specific. I have a mini-lop named Pilfer that is about 9 months old He has been neutered. He is adapting well to our home and was adopted in July. We love the little guy to pieces! We have purchased him a four story (actually a Ferret cage) home and he is loving going up and down the ramps. It took us a while to get everything where HE wanted it as he had to have his litter box in the same corner as he always had it in the first (smaller) home, and his hay, etc. all where HE wanted it. He is very particular about where everything goes in his home. When we first got him my husband built him a little wooden house to go into and he HATED it! He moved it all around and would sleep where it had been sitting until we finally removed the thing!
I have a question about his care. He has starting shedding very heavily. He is white with cinnamon spots so it is quite a problem as it gets on EVERYTHING! If I leave my coffee cup for a minute it has a bunny hair floating in it! We brush him, is there anything else we should be doing? We are still learning about his care. Also, do you think the papaya treats help with hairballs? I am ordering him some today. We also have a problem with urine on the blinds behind bunny's cage. This is high and far from the litter box, not like an accident, but like perhaps intentional spraying...? He uses the litter box faithfully, and is a good bunny so I feel there is some distinct purpose in his putting it there. Does he need a companion? If so which sex? Not sure I could take the hair of ANOTHER bunny.
He loves to be held and patted and we feel very fortunate to have discovered how wonderful of a pet a bunny makes!
