Lily still in trouble

Art

Young Bun
:(My loverly little girl is in trouble,:( she has an abscess in her jaw. The vet is of the opinion that there is little hope of a successful outcome of operating. He thinks treating her with a course of Ceporex by injection is the best course of action, please send her your wishes.

Poor Bun
Dont loose all hope though. Jaw abscesses are a real :censored: especially if the bone is involved. But your Vet has made a *great* choice re which antibiotic to use. Ceporex (Cephalexin) has excellent tissue penetration *including bone* :D
Just ensure Lily's tum keeps ticking over ie no runny poo and no signs of reduced gut motility (few/small poo).
I'd give her some Fibreplex to support her guts whilst she is on the antibiotics.

She may need some pain relief too-ie Metacam.

Back to the vets!

Lily has had two weeks on the antibiotics the swelling has
reduced but still there saw the vet last friday, he said to
come back this week to see how she was progressing
and decide what to do next,
Lily seems in fine spirits and is eating well with no
obvious signs of pain.
but the abscess is firmly attached.
////////////////// Wish her luck and good vibes //////////

thanks sue

Thanks sue hopping for the best.
Jip is doing fine really settled in and very affectionate!

the sarga continues

:(:( Lily jaw was operated on 3 weeks ago to remove the abscess the original
antibiotic treatment had reduced it but not been totally successful,
the vet put antibiotic beads in the hole in the jaw and one under the skin
but the swelling returned under the skin, the jaw area seems alright at
the moment so the wound has been opened and is being bathed with
Hibiscrub solution and is on another course of Ceporex injections
.:) luckily she still
seems OK and is eating well. She's always been very fond of her food.
Its back to the vets again on Thursday.
Lucky I got a new job after being laid off at Christmas.

Wish her luck
