Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Very small poo

Wise Old Thumper
Just come down and looked in Buu's litter tray and her poos are tiny  :( They were normal size when I changed the tray earlier, which would have been poos she has did last night. She has eaten a handful of pellets this morning and is munching on oat hay as I type this. Also she has been jumping about and laying down as usual and her tummy feels ok to me. I can get her to the vet today if I need to just wanted to ask here first because she generally seems fine.

What do small poos mean if she is eating normally and doesnt seem to be in any pain? x

GI stasis can often occur over a period of two or three days and the first sign is often a decrease in the size and quantity of the stools.

Encourage her to eat lots of hay and drink plenty of fluids and keep a very close eye on her.

Thanks, I will watch her overnight :D I wont have any trouble encouraging her to eat hay, she has eaten three baskets full today  :D x

Alvin has a mixture of small and large poos... seems during the night they are smaller than during the day, hes as far as i know in perfect health..

do poos have to be HUGE all the time????
