So pleased with my Vets.

I am so glad I have ended up with vets who actually care about animals as opposed to how to use them to line their pockets.

As you probably know I use two practices, one with a specialised rabbit vet which is unfortunately owned by an old fashioned, money grabbing :censored: which means the vets hands are tied as to what help they can give me, despite their many hints and protests to the owner.

The second is a reasonably new practice set up by a former locum. I phoned them today to see how much they would charge for a gentle duct flush to be carried out alongside a neuter, i.e under the same GA.

The answer, well seen as we give you all your dental burring free if done with a neuter  we will do duct flushes free too!:shock::shock:

Its not a procedure I intend to use an awful lot but free minor 'ops' has got to be a huge plus for any rescue!

So today I am :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Thats really encouraging to know. My vets are brilliant. The owner is a dog vet more than anything and he was so good when we had our dog PTS ie not charging for a few emergency visits and fitting us in without an appoinment on several occasions.

But the other vets there are also good with the piggies and bun, giving good advice, although the best small furry vet left

I can't believe that you don't get discount on jabs etc, thats a real shame.

Thats really good of them. Luckily Piper and Minstrel haven't had to go to the vets for an illness but mine were good with Piper's spay. If i was unhappy with them at all I would consider the one that you use.

Hope you have a good 2008 Sooz and hope the buns enjoyed the veg, I didn't think anyone would steal it from your door as you weren't in!!!

I am banking on them either helping me get the supplies to self-vaccinate or making me an offer I cant refuse...

Yes we got the vveggies thanks Helen, I did send you a text or PM I think

I too am so very lucky having a vet like Christobel.
She could make a fortune out of me but her motives are to get a sick Bun better, not to line her own pockets.

There is a chain of Vets Practices around here and their charges are obscene.
I met a Bun whose owner had been charged almost £400 for a day in hospital, some Metoclop' and Metacam :shock:And the Bun was still poorly so was taken to Christobel who got him better, charging a tiny fraction of the previous Vet's fee

There are two vets local to me, my vet who will only charge for treatment(even on the first visit).
The other vet however charges for consultation plus treatment every time.

My vet is actully 75 years old so he's very blunt (which i love) but he is the best.

The small furries are seen by one of the two Aussie girls who spend most of the time stroking and cooing over them!
