  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

just been to vet for myxi booster and nails clipped!

it was the first time he has been back since his castration.

as soon as we got into the vets he started breathing really fast and began to panick, bless him!

there was about 6 kids in there messing around (just being little kids i guess) but they were so noisy they were scaring him more.

a man came out the consultation room with a gorgeous bun then i noticed in the big wicker carrier there was a piggy in with him  it was obviously the kids xmas pressie i felt for bun and piggy because these kids were quite boisterous (spelling sorry) i just hope they learn to respect the animals.

moving on, i was really surprised at how gizmo was with this nail clipping i thought he would really play up but he did stay still there was 1 kick on the back feet that was all.

is £6.71 reasonable for a nail clipping and £13.50 for myxi booster?

i am not complaining about the prices as i am extremely happy with my vet they are great just wondered what everyone else gets charged?

Yeah the same myxi £13.50 and nails £7.00:wave:

i did not have to pay for either teeth burring/nail clipping when it was done at the same time as his castration-i know i could do it for free but id would sooner pay than be inexperienced and hurt him:oops:

Myxo is £10.50 here, and I do my own nail clipping. My vets would probably do it for free though.

My vets were great today. Someone had ordered VHD vaccine and had 5 of their buns to get done. As it comes in doses of 10 the remaining doses would only be usable for a few hours as the vaccine would have been opened. They phoned me up as theyknew i was looking to get my buns down so we raced over there with our four and got them done for £50! Bargain. They also checked teeth, weight, nails etc and we dont even have to pay until our payday on the 3rd. There are some kind people out there after all!! :D
