Can I ask the more experienced rabbit owners out there, why vets use the Cylap VHD injection if so many rabbits have a bad reaction to it. On my other thread people have expressed their rabbits had some worrying reactions to the vaccination. Domino is still very quiet today, he is eating and pooing well but still not himself. As there is an alternative, why dont vets use it?

Until about a year ago CYLAP was the only licensed vaccine. Now there is also LAPINJECT.
Until the CYLAP manufacturers include more *possible* side effects in the data information sheet supplied with the vaccine Vets will continue to insist these *possible* side effects dont happen.

The CYLAP Vaccine is 'safe' in that it has gone through all the legislation necessary to get it licensed. It is also extremely effective. But in my experience it does appear to have the potential to cause some *transient* side-effects. I now use the LAPINJECT and so far I have not had a Bun develop any side-effects. But that is not to say that no-Bun will
