  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

not pooing! :(

Wispa & Zola

Mama Doe
we took Wispa to the vet earlier and she hated it, she was proper shaking and her little heart was beating so fast, when we got back she did one poo but it wasnt formed, not like diahrea (sp) like lots of rabbit poos squidged into one and since then she hasnt pooed!

i felt her tummy and its fine and she ate some carrot when i was there, she has weed a couple of times just no poop!!!!!!!

If you're suspecting tummy trouble I would encourage hay eating, and not give her any vegetables or pellets. If she eats normally this would probably stabilise her digestion. You could try mixing hay with fresh herbs or simply give her plenty of new hay which normally works with my bunnies

That sounds like it could have been a caecotroph? Like a little bunch of grapes. Like Ida says, try and tempt her. My two tend to do most of their poos in two sittings, with occasional ones in between. Hopefully, as long as she is eating, stuff will continue to come out the other end :)

well think i over reacted!!

as soon as i posted this i went up there and both litter trays had poo in. It must depend on the veg she has because yesterday she pooped A LOT
