Hi
I have a five year old Netherland Dwarf rabbit, who unfortunately lost her sister in August. Since then we have been looking for a mate for her and became the proud owners of a cross lionhead from the RSPCA 3 weeks ago. He was neutered through the RSPCA, but she was never done as it didnt ever seem necessary when she lived with her sister and now a lot of people have said there is quite a risk due to her age(including the vet).
We have been bonding them over the last 3 weeks, swapping hay, food bowls etc, and putting them in the same room together for varying lengths of time. Although there is no fighting and there is some grooming he will not stop mounting her and she keeps making distress noises which is really upsetting.
What do you think the answer is - should we get her neutered? Will that definately solve the problem?
