Fostering

Grace and Louis

Warren Scout
I have been having a chat with my boyfriend today about fostering bunnies and he agreed that we could do it :D

We wouldnt be able to do it untill I move in with him in Essex - so anyone with an Essex rescue this would be a good time to jump up and down if you want a foster family  )

We have a large garden, which doesnt have grass as my boyfriend is allergic but the man next door has a large grass garden so maybe he would like some help keeping his grass trimmed :D The garden has different sections and a large ish un-used out building "shed" (not really a shed as its made of brick) so we thought that the buns could be kept securely in the out house and they could run in there on days when the weather wasnt good for them to be outside but then they could have the back third of the garden for their run area and our buns can have the first third next to the house, when they are outside, and not be unsettled by new bunnies arriving and leaving.

I would love to rescue so many animals but, as I said to someone earlier, we cant afford the vet bills. What we can afford is love and time and food and shelter.

Can any foster carers give me any advice while we are still at this stage and also let me know what we need to get to set ourselves up etc. We have room in the out building to have giants so we should we set up for at least one of those? How many bunnies should we expect to have and how much time do you spend with your foster buns - I know you dont want to spend so much time with them that they bond with you but you have to spend enough time to socialise them.

Soooo many questions LOL

Thats good that you want to be a fosterer and will be helpfull too rescues who are likely too be at there capacity now, rick:D
