After spay, can I use barley straw?

Hi
I was wondering if I can use barley straw after a spay. I need something to keep my girls warm after their spay during the winter nights. If I can't use barley straw, what can I use a bedding?

Have you got any vet bed that you can use?
Straw although soft is not ideal straight after a spay.Once the wounds has healed straw will be fine:D

Well once they go back outdoors it'll be a few days after spey wont it? And the wound virtually starts healing straight away, so i'd say you'll be fine :) More harm them being cold imo X

Can you not use soft hay or shredded paper for a week or so?

If you're worried about the cold, you can always put an old duvet under the hay.

I do have vetbed and I am hoping to get a snugglesafe by then. I have got meadow hay(which I think is quite soft) and I can use shredded paper too. They will be going outside about 42 hours after their spay if everything goes ok.
