Hi,

I have a 9 month old female Ermin Rex and she has started to behave strangley, at first she started building a nest in her hutch and pulling out her fur (which i have read is normal) but now she is digging holes and tunneling in the garden. We are not sure if she is not happy or something normal or hormonal... does anyone have any advise.

shes possibly hormonal. i would get her spayed and she should calm down x

I agree - getting her spayed should hopefully calm her down!

The nesting is hormonal, but the digging is part of being a bunny

I believe that in the wild it's the female bunnies who dig all the burrows, the men will dig a scrape if the need arises but mostly the girls do all the hard work!

Neutering stopped the nestbuilding with my girls - also a lot of the hormonal behaviour that they seemed to have.
