Tippex Wee still!?!?!

Hi
I stopped giving my bunnies vegetables because they got Tippex wee and it was really quite bad. I stopped giving that about 1-2 months ago and they still get Tippex wee, although, not as much. I was wondering if this is a problem and it needs solving? I'll try and get some pictures tomorrow of their wee now.

Hi,Gizmo used to have thick wee once i had changed his food from the rubbish mix he was usually fed on and went to Burgess had no problems at all i dont get any problems from veg, what kind do you feed?

Sorry above probably has not helped at all!

Switch to a non alfafa (called legumes on the ingredients usually) based pellets. The only one I know of is Oxbow/Bunny basics T (for timothy). Bring back the veg but stick to low calcium ones like dark green lettuce, carrot, celery & raddish.

i looked at the raddish in the fridge the other day and wondered if buns could have it, it did not mention it in my book so i did not risk it - thanks for pointing that out!:p

As all rabbits excrete excess calcium through there urine it is normal for there to be white wee from time to time...if it cleared up totally then you could prospectively have a rabbit retaining calcium and turning it into stones which would be far more of a problem. :? Only panic if the urine has a gritty feel to it.

It clearly up a lot since stopping the veg but there are occasional days when they have more tippex wee than others. This is their diet:

Access to grass(quite good quality) for 8 hrs a day
Access to timothy hay, meadow hay and barley straw 24/7
2 handfuls morning and evening of SS

I would cut down on the SS and reintroduce veg for them. SS is alfalfa based and although it is a good food 2 handfuls twice a day is too much. If they are passing white cloudy urine that is perfectly normal and shows their kidneys are working well ;)

Should I cut down right away to one handful morning and evening? Or should this be done gradually? It is usually cloudy white but there is sometimes a little tippex wee in with it.
