Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Worms???

Hi all,
I realise I haven't posted an intro post but I will do that soon.

Tonight in my bunnys hutch I found a long, grey and black thing. It looked like it had been split down the middle but it had a triangle flat head which was moving. I'm not sure what it was, maybe a worm or something,

Any ideas?

hey baxy its mexy

hey rexy bexy ur on here 2 :p i posted about worms 4 u too lol great minds think alike.. hope some one can come along with an answer 4 us soon :)

I'm afraid I can't help identify what you found, but I'm pretty much 100% certain that my Bella had worms last week. They were in her poops and were worm coloured and very thin. They weren't moving - or at least I don't think they were - and as I started treated her straight away with Panacur any more that came out were definitely not moving. The only difference in Bella was that she was eating tons more hay than usual - I just thought she was enjoying it.

Sorry can't help more. Sounds daft but could it have been a caterpillar type thing if your bun had veg?

:)
