Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I'd like some help please

happy little bunny

Hi all:wave:
My rabbits have finally gone back into there hutch after having nodular myxi and i was wondering how long i should leave it until i try to bond them with my lone buck joey?
Or indeed if i should even try to bond them with joe as they have been a bonded pair for about two years do you guys think they will accept joe into there group to make a trio ?
I'd be greatful for your input on this on please ..... Thank you :D

I'm interested in the answers you get as I'm wondering about adding a third to my pair, though I'll have to wait till the spring now as the neutral area for bonding is indoors and the temperature difference between there and their hutch will be too great.

There is no reason why you cannot bond them with a male bunny. I would ensure that they are fully recovered from their myxie before attempting this. Do ensure that you do this on totally neutral territory and thoroughly clean out the hutch if that is where you are planning them to live. Dilute vinegar is good for neutralising the smells in the hutch.

Bonding 3 rabbits together often takes longer than bonding a pair due to the 2 way relationship which needs to be sorted out.
