How Long After Neutering...

Is a male bunny still fertile?

Having been told on this thread that some rescues only wait 2 weeks :shock: after neuter - what is your experience?

Two vets have told me 6 weeks.

I know of two rescues who only wait 2 weeks- one on the forum...and the one your girls are from (don't want to say names.) The second rescue have done this with hundreds of bunns and never had a doe become pregnant.

as a general rule we wait 6 weeks . but if male bun is with sister and neutered between 14 and 16 weeks he can go straight back with her

With my own rabbits I waited 4 weeks which is also what my vets advise.

I have only bonded one neutered male with an unneutered female since and again we waited 4 weeks.

I think I have said this before but there are probably always cases where 'it has been known' for a neutered male to impregnante a female 2,4,6,8,10,12 weeks after a neuter.....where do you draw the line?
