my male got sore bits after bonding

hes neutered males bonding with my neutered female and they get along fine together apart from he humps her and i thought oh let them get oh with it but look what happended now hes bits have gone all red and sore i noticed this when i picked him up,he doesn't seem a bit bothard but is he ok? i have parted them now,but they get along good together now :shock:
this ever happend to anyone eles buns???
