The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Anyone have bunnies without molars?

Bex

Warren Scout
Does anybody have a bun who has had some/all of their molars removed? My vet said that it was a possibility if Remus' teeth problems became any worse.

I was wondering, how have they adapted to being molarless?
What do they eat?
Were there any complications?
Was it a highly expensive proceedure? - I enquired at the vets and they were very, very guarded and only said that it was a rare proceedure :?
...and pretty much anything else you feel is important.

Thanks so much;

Hi

Princess barely has any molars left bless her. She had a dental about 3 weeks ago and the vet said that she hadn't seen a bun with such bad teeth but who was still sooo lively and maintaining weight!! She had to have another 2 removed a few weeks ago but we think the rest must have either fallen out or rotted away (I took her on at about 2 yrs old so don't know anything about diet etc when she was little). She also has to have her incisors burred every month.

Princess copes very well - she eats Excel pellets and chopped up veggies.
The last op was £130 but she also had an abcess drained too. No complications - in fact she was bouncing around the evening I brought her home like she had never had an op! She had Baytril + Metacam and recovered brilliantly. We are off to the vets tomorrow to have front teeth done so will c wot the vet says.
