well yes and no. you buy a pressie for a rescue bun, from your bun to theirs! and you can spend as little or as much as you like! x

I (sorry my buns) want to do a secret santa!!! :D

Just about to PM you......

Could there be a recommended amount to spend as this would make it fair for each bunny and we (I) won't be worrying I haven't spent enough?

well i did think about it but then some people can afford different ammounts, just spend however much you feel comfortable with, because no pressie is too small! x

Should we only put up our permenant rescue residents then? As there is no guarantee the others will still be with us by X-mas.

oh thats true, i never thought about that.

Yes do that:)

and if we get enough so that we have more than the permanents, we can send some to be shared out with what rehomers you have at the time! xxxx

Pippa @ Happy Hoppers

Okies here are our three Happy Hoppers permenants and their histories:

Pippa

Arrived in April this year as her owner could not afford to keep her. She was grossly overweigth with long claws. The worst part is that she has tumours on a third of her body.

We disscussed operating on her but she is an old girly (nearly 7 now) and it would have been a 2 part operation. The chances of her pulling through the first op were slim and the second nigh on impossible so we decided it was not the right thing to do.

However she is a happy, friendly and energetic bunny so we did not want her PTS but knew she couldnt be rehomed. I decided we should keep Pippa and she has outlasted all our expectations. We know eventually the day will come when she will need to be helped to the bridge but for the time being she is having a ball and we love having her about.

Bobby @ Happy Hoppers

Bobby is a large REW boy who arrived here in June this year. He came to us because his owner was finding it very hard to bond him with another rabbit and felt keeping him alone was not fair on him.

We knew when he arrived that he would be unhomeable because he has a lot of trouble with his eyesight and also had to have his incisors removed.

We decided to bond him with Pippa who we felt needed a friend but to be honest we were not expecting this to work out, Bobby tends to start fights and then realises he is unable to defend himself adequately with just his gums!!

Anyway we persevered for 3 weeks and now Bobby and Pippa are inseperable and totally smitten with each other :D

Caspian @ Happy Hoppers

Caspian is our resident newbie and has only been here since September.

He came from a backyard breeder along with 2 nethies. We were informed he was a mixed breed rabbit, but how wrong they were....Caspian is a beautiful tri-colour dutch, if they had known I am positive he would have been sold on again

He was and is still underweight and also has chronic problems with his gasto-intestinal tract....we nearly lost him to bloat and stasis two weeks ago but pulled him through with intensive nursing and he was on 6 medicines and 3 injections a day.

Caspian is now on a special diet for his sensitive tummy and once stabilised he will be going under GA for tests, examinations and also his castration.

We do not know exactly what is wrong with him yet but it is almost certain he will need specialised care for the rest of his life which will also be quite costly so he has become a permenant Happy Hopper.

thanks sooz!

have added them to my list!

everyone, sooz pointed out that some bunnies if they were being rehomed may not be there by christmas (which is of course a good thing!)

so we are sending permanent residents a gift, BUT if this becomes really successfuly some of you will not have a 'named' secret santa as we can just send extra pressies to be shared around! hope this okay! but we wil do permanent residents first!!

xxx

anything you think would be good for the bunnies! treats and toys, maybe a play tunnel or some chew stix etc etc! have got your pm:)
