Modular/full blown Myxi difference

Hiya, with full blown Myxo rabbits(unvaccninated rabbits) get pnemonia, other organ problems, aswell as the awful skin sores and eruptions. Most infected bunnies will die.
Nodular Myxo(The type vaccinated rabbits can get) usually just involves skin eruptions, which can be anything from lumpy bumpy sore on nose, lips, and eyes, to lots of sores all over the body and some of the chest problems too.
We have had 14 rabbits here at the Sanctuary with nodular Myxo, and each case varied in severity. The fitter bunnies immune systems fought it off well, but the weaker rabbits with other problems developed , stomach , kidney, chest and nasal problems, and it took anything from 3-6 weeks for recovery.
We have lost 3 out of the 14 affected rabbits despite intensive care and using lots of medicines, so it has been a very sad year for us here at the Sanctuary. However we could have lost the lot if the rabbits were not vaccinated religiously every six months.

Thanks for explaining that - so do you have to blood test them or whatever to see what type they have? ie you can't tell by just looking at them.

I think it's basically down to watching them for an increase in severity of the common symptoms. Most vaccinated buns get the less severe form which is the Nodular variety.
