  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Buying Panacur on-line

Yep, I bought the tubes of Panacur from wormers.co.uk, but with 7 buns have since realised that the 10% panacur liquid would have been far cheaper!

How do you work out the measurements for the liquid? I've got 7 buns, not sure whether to get the paste or the liquid. We didn't have much luck administering the paste last time we got it from the vets.

o.2ml per Kg.

It tastes far worse than the paste......I have had to get it down the dog before  which was easier than some rabbits.

yup i would agree too.. i got the bottle of 10% for kittens/puppies panacur from wormers.co.uk too. Think my lot had about 0.5mls each which isnt so bad

heya,

I used the same site. I've got 20 bunnies and used the paste on um all - far far better than the liquid. Some of my bunnies are British Giants and because the liquid tastes foul. they create something wicked.

if you get the paste from this site, it's cheaper than even the vets get it themselves!

the vets recommend you treat for worms 2-4 times a year, so with as many rabbits as I've got it would be dead expensive getting the panacur from them. I only use it every 6 months, and then in between I also use the ivomectin as this treats of other sorts of worms and parasites and is great for other animals too - this is also available online and cheaper than at the vets!

I use hyperdrug.co.uk, fab service and buy the 10% liquid for kittens

Much cheaper and far easier to use
