Thin rabbit?

becg

New Kit
Hi i don't know if anyone can help, my rabbit is 2 yrs old, she is eating drinking weeing an pooing normally but she seems to be quite thin, do rabbits usually have much fat on them?

How much does she drink in a day?

Has she had her teeth checked recently? Does she ever have a wet chin or drop her food while eating? Does she favour certain foods and if so which?

Hi thank you for the replies, she has been wormed, her teeth have been checked recently, i give her a a handful of pellets early morning a bit of veg at lunch time and she is out for about 4 hours eating grass during the day, she also has hay daily, I've started giving her 1/4 of a weetabix twice a week too. she never has a wet chin nor does she drop her food, she doesn't really have a favourite food she loves it all!

What breed is she, some rabbits are different shapes to others and can be more slimline than others, can you feel her ribs or spine? Has she been to the vets recently?

I asked about my bunnies weight when I took Poppy (Jet) in for her VHD jab and he had a feel and told me Charlie was, in his words ' on the fat side of healthy' but so long as he didn't put weight on or have any problems then he'd be fine, he's lost a little bit of weight since. Poppy had a good abdomen and her sides were feeling good but she needed to put a little bit more weight (muscle rather than fat)on her back which would happen naturally in a matter of weeks and she has done.

She went to the vet about 6 weeks ago for her booster jabs, they weighed her then and she was fine, i can feel her spine and ribs, I'm not sure what breed she is, i have made an appointment for monday just to be on the safe side, she is eating and drinking fine but I'm sure she has lost weight! :(
