Moving in!

Werepuppy

Young Bun
We've gotten an outside fold up run inside ready for the winter nights! Dad secured it so it wont fold up anymore so our gran's bouncy border collie wont be able to knock it down when she's over at our house.
It's 42cm deep and 120cm x 80cm area. Hope that should be big enough for the two of them. They're medium sized buns; black lionhead bunnies. About 9 months old. They'll still be let out for run about the rest of the lower end of the living room.

I'll get photos up later of them when we get them in tonight. I made a little den for them out of a cardboard box and put two cushions in there for them to sit on.

Flop!

They both really took to that ball, though Silver is a little aggressive sometimes. She'd maul her front paws over the ball then pick it up and throw it! Luna cant seem to work out how to pick it up though, bless him!

They're always washing themselves and each other!

Silver has the most adorable silver-marked footsies!

Er.. onto the new pen! Sorry i couldnt resist taking those photos of them as well, they're much less shy of the camera now too!

The pen, theres a cover that goes in the middle but we're leaving it open for them to hop in and out.

In the pen for the first time.

Luna: How do i get out of 'ere then?
DSCF4524.gif

Luna: here we go!
Silver: o_o how did you do that....

Bless poor Silver, she cant figure out how to jump out, but Luna zipped in and out about 20 times trying to show her how to!
Lifted her out eventually, they're curled up together again in their usual spot!

The proper hutch arrived already.. Got it set up now! Was a tad expensive but i think it was worth it. It has a hutch with a ramp going down to a 52x52" run. So far though they dont seem to like the ramp.. so we put all their food and stuff at the bottom for now whilst getting them ajusted.
Any suggestions on getting them to use the ramp or alternatives. Mum suggested putting a box beneith the hole for them to jump up to it. I might try that tomorrow.

How high is it from the ground to the floor they have to use the ramp to get to? They might not need a box or ramp at all, my netherland dwarf easily jumps onto a shelf thats 2 foot high. But if you want to keep the ramp, use food to encourage them up and down it.

They're still a little skittlish... ^_^;
They freeze up a bit when i go near but after 4 days of socialisation they are getting a little more relaxed with me being near them. I'll try taking away the ramp tomorrow and see what they make of it.

No worries though, I can keep them in the lower bit. The upper part is for them to get a higher view of the room and was ment to be the food area but moved the food downstairs whilst they're settling. There is a bit of apple and cabbage up the top bit so i'll know if they did get the courage to go up whilst i was sleeping!

Here's their new home!
We took out the ramp and put the box under the hole to the upper bit.. Tried putting Luna in the top section and he jumped down from the left section! Silver managed to work out how to jump up via the box, but she wasnt keen on how to get back down.. Eventually she used the ramp we put at the side but she slid down quite comicly and bounded off the last 3 steps!

Awww they are lovely bunnies :p Do make sure that ramp can't slip off though - could cause a nasty injury  My rabbits took a while to learn to use the ramp - Tia took 2 weeks and I was so proud of her when she finally figured it out

Its only at the side temporarily, I might put it back inside. They've only had it a day so i guess its good progress ^^
We do have a box there and made sure it cant slip down. When its inside its right up against the side of the cage so no slipping there!

oh what gorgeous bunnies?what breed are they?look too fluffy to be lionheads?
nice hutch too.xxx
We were told they were Lionheads. What else could they be?
Silver still has alot of her fluff though, they're both 9 months old, nearly 10 now. I'm guessing Silver's fur will moult out eventually. Luna has most of his fluff out already.

Luna just figured it out! I put the ramp up and put the cardboard box up against the side.. He jumped onto the box, stuck his head up through the gap and jumped up to get some apple!

Just for the winter, they got a bigger place outside when it warms up again! They usually live in a big dog kennel and have a chair to sit on!
We are trying to litter train them though. Ive never done it before but i presume if you put their poop in the tray they'll get the idea eventually. At the moment they seem to like lying in it...

a bigger mansion *faints*

they seem to litter train themselves... long as it goes where they wee theyll use it.... Alvin used to lie in his too ewwww... least they aint throwing them around.. hehe

Hehe, yeah we're thankful they're only doing them in their pen, and not on our carpet! :D
Organised the food and stuff so they have some hay in the cardboard box, rabbit mix and water bottle near the bottom door, and treats up at the top.
