I was contacted today by my former boss, asking for help in rehoming his adult son's rabbit.

Daphne is a 4 year old female dwarf lop - spayed and vaccinated. Her partner died two weeks ago, and Daphne is greatly mourning. Her owners are also about to move house and apparently aren't able to accommodate her as a house rabbit in their new place so they have reluctantly decided to rehome her so she can continue to live as a housebunny with a new partner. Daphne is a bunny who is described by her current owners as loving and playful.

Daphne has suffered dental problems in the past including the removal of teeth - I have emailed back to find out which teeth. I did give this couple a sample of loads of hays a while ago and they did find one she would eat, so hopefully this is more of a 'historic' dental problem than a current one. As soon as I get clarification I will update this thread. I recall talking about these buns with my boss before now, and they definitely sounded well loved, have always been housebunnies and always had the company of a radio, so it is a real shame that they now feel the need to rehome the remaining bun.

I have also asked for a photo and again will update when I know more. I suspect that I may not get more answers until Monday now as I think it was a work email address I have been in contact with.

Daphne is located somewhere in London, I seem to recall somewhere near Wimbledon but I might be wrong.

If you have a neutered male looking for a lovely partner, please pm me and hopefully we can get this little one rehomed to a new partner directly rather than her having to spend time in rescue.

Hello! I only have their work email addresses so probably won't get any reply until next week now. She did email me earlier this week though and is trying to find an alternative way of finding a companion for her bun but them being fostered together until January when she would be able to have them back - so I'll let you know how things are working out and whether she is able to sort out fostering or whether she is going to have to rehome her

Hi There, do you have any piccies of Daphne yet?
I am looking for a third bun for my house buns (1-2 yrs of age). I currently have a dwarf lop and a mini rex so ideally a small bun would be good to add to the group so that their cage is still fine for them. They are only in it when I am in bed or out at work, teh rest of the time they have teh run of the place, but the rest fo the time I want them to have as much space as possible.
If Daphne is little then she may be ideal. I am a way away from you tho I am willing to travel, if the bun can cope with it.

Keep me posted.:)

 Oooh thanks for bumping this, I'd forgotten to update

I've spoken to the owners who were devastated at the thought of having to part with her, and were only rehoming her because they thought it was for her best. However having spoken to various rescues etc they have managed to find a creative way to keep her for now until they move into their new house in January. She is perfectly safe and happy and the owners are currently looking for a new male bun to bond with her, so hopefully she will soon have a new husbun and be able to stay settled with her current owners.
