Nervous rexy boy

I got Brian yesterday and we have had lots of nice cuddles but every now and again he sort of freaks ou an dstarts breathing really quickly. he's 12 weeks old but has never socialised with other bunnies even though there were lots in hutches in the same room as him. it seems he didn't get all that much human attention where he was.

is there any way I can chill him out and make him feel safe? he's sat on my lap fairly contented at the moment...

my 9 week old rex babies are the same. really nervous of being picked up. I'll be interested to see what people say to this thread.

all his relatives (adults) were more than happy to be picked up. the lady showed some of them so i think they were used to it.

he seems quite happy on my lap but every now and again he will try and climb up my chest until i put an arm around him to calm him down

i'm in love though, he's a stunner!

Many line bred Rexes have poor eyesight which means they can get freaked easily, especially by new smells that we may not even notice !!
Orange Rexes appear to be the worst affected, in my experience anyway.

he is a blue. i must admit i was glad to get hima way from there. all the bunnies were well looked after but didn't seem to have much companionship there... they didnt have oranges buit the blacks seemed more skittish...
